Every computer that is connected to TCP/IP based network need an IP (Internet Protocol) address to communicate. IP address uniquely identifies device or computer over a network with other computers over the network. IP is used in local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) like Internet. Understanding IP addressing a crucial if your preparing for certifications like CCNA or MCSE.
